Misty Banknell, PA-C and Senior Laser Practitioner is the founder of Misty Med Spa & Skin Rx. Her career in dermatology began over 25 years ago in Macon, Georgia, where she worked as a Surgical Technologist. Encouraged by her mentor, Dr. David Cohen, she advanced her education and earned her Physician Assistant degree from South University in Savannah in 2008.Misty Banknell is the founder of Misty Med Spa & Skin Rx. She started her career in Dermatology in Macon, GA as a Surgical Technologist 25 years ago. With the urging of her boss and mentor, Dr. David Cohen, she later went to physician assistant school at South University in Savannah in 2006.
Throughout her career, Misty became known for her dedication, problem-solving skills, and commitment to patient care. She quickly gained a reputation in the community for successfully managing complex dermatologic cases and developed expertise in all aspects of skin, hair, and nail health.
After many years in a thriving dermatology practice, Misty decided to shift her focus toward her true passion—aesthetic medicine. Upon relocating to Atlanta, she noticed a gap in the industry for results-driven, medically grounded aesthetics. Her attention to detail, high standards, and desire to deliver exceptional outcomes inspired her to create Misty Med Spa & Skin Rx, where she continues to combine medical expertise with an artistic approach to beauty and skin health.

Geovanna, lovingly known as Geo, is a compassionate registered nurse who speaks Portuguese and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Union College in Nebraska. With nearly seven years of experience in emergency medicine, pediatrics, and medical aesthetics, she’s passionate about helping others feel confident in their own skin. Geo has completed advanced facial balancing training in São Paulo, Brazil, and is known for her gentle touch and personalized care. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, nature, and spending time with her husband and two-year-old daughter.
Devin is our Office Coordinator who is highly passionate about helping our patients have an amazing experience at Misty Med Spa & Skin Rx. She is an Atlanta native and has been in the medical field for over 20 years. She is a solutions expert, always positive, and very dedicated in the handling of our patient’s needs, and helping the business run smoothly. Devin loves to laugh and have dance parties with her family and friends. She also enjoys feeding her mind with knowledge and giving back to single parent families in our community.
Laura has been a medical esthetician in the cosmetic industry for over 16 years. Her background ranges from having worked in plastics, medical spas, day spas, & even owning her own spa. She is an Advanced Licensed Laser Technician and Certified Phlebotomist. She has worked with many different products, devices, and lasers over the years and is an expert in aesthetics and skin care. She is very personable and strives to make each and every patient a VIP!
Add Sarah, Office Coordinator after Laura: Sarah is the friendly face that greets you at Misty Med Spa & Skin Rx and helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. As our Office Coordinator, she makes sure your experience is seamless. She does everything from booking your appointment to checking in and out and everything in between.
With a passion for organization and great customer care, Sarah loves helping patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident every step of the way. She works closely with the clinical team to keep the office flowing efficiently and ensure every visit is a positive one.
When she’s not at the spa, you can find Sarah reading a good book, watching college football, or spending time with her family.
